Students who have previously taken the "Weave a Dishcloth" class may wish a refresher on continuous strand technique and to see design ideas for additional projects with their square frame loom.
Students Will Learn: that the loom they thought was just for dishcloths can be used with other fibers for other projects such as potholders, blankets, garments and more.
Homework: None
Class Prerequisites(Students should know): how to do continuous strand weaving.
Materials Fee: $3.00 *Material fees are separate from class fees and paid to the instructor the day of the class.

Students Should Bring: 10.5" (or larger) continuous strand frame loom, weaving hook and packing fork, scissors, blunt tapestry needle, pencil and notebook.

Yes Virginia, there is twill in tablet weaving. Learn a double-faced weaving technique that also produces beautiful twill lines in your bands. Learn a quick circular warping technique and then how to weave and design 3/1 twill patterns. No previous tablet weaving experience necessary, but concentration is required.

Students Should Bring: scissors, yarn needle, four balls or cones of 10/2 mercerized or unmercerized cotton or #10 crochet thread. Each ball should be at least 1/2 once. Two balls of one color, and two balls of a different highly contrasting color.

Students will learn to weave a cotton dishcloth using a simple over/under technique of continuous strand weaving. The class focuses on the dishcloth as a project but the loom can be used with other fibers for other projects.
Students Will Learn: To weave on a frame loom using the continuous strand technique.
Homework: None

Discover the fun in weaving a small 3"x7" rectangle and then assembling the pieces to form squares and larger pieces.
Students Will Learn: to weave continuous strand style to form a rectangle that can pieced for small objects such as trivets or placemats or larger pieces such as shawls and blankets.

Hearts woven on a sweet little loom are irresistible. The hearts take less than four yards of yarn and the weaving requires only a needle and a few minutes.
Students Will Learn: to weave a heart using a simple over and under technique. Class will include ideas to design projects using the 3" hearts.

The Ligeia Stole brings together two ancient arts--weaving and knitting--to create a finished piece that's both striking and elegant. In this full-day workshop, designers Franklin Habit and John Mullarkey will guide you through all the necessary steps, from weaving and joining the beautifully patterned elements of the pin-woven center; through the knitting-on of the matched lace edging. You won't believe how simple the tools and techniques are, and how quickly your own treasured stole will come together. No previous weaving experience is required!

Class Prerequisites(Students should know): Students must be fluent in the basics of knitting, including casting on and binding off, yarn overs, increasing and decreasing, and basic chart reading. Previous weaving and sewing experience is not required.
Students Should Bring: One skein smooth, non-fuzzy fingering or DK yarn in white or a light solid or semi-solid color; natural fibers (or predominantly natural blends) are preferred. (One full skein will suffice for class; to complete the full stole, you will need approximately 1400 yds of your yarn of choice.) Three double-pointed knitting needles, length 6-8 inches, size US 3 or 4�or of whatever size gives you a drapey gauge suitable for lace with your yarn of choice. Scissors. Tapestry needle. Stitch markers. Notebook and pen or pencil for taking notes.

Weave-It looms are a snap to learn and allow you to make squares in a short period of time. There are many weaving patterns and color variations that can be added to each square.
Students Will Learn: how to weave patterns in a continuous warp weaving technique and add multiple colors to your weaving.
Homework: No Homework
Class Prerequisites(Students should know): No prior knowledge needed

Looms come in all sizes and shapes. Weave-It Looms were first sold in the 1930’s and 40’s. They are a wonderful little loom! In this class you will make a pincushion or cell phone case by weaving several small squares on a Weave-It loom and then stitch the squares together.
Students Will Learn: Continuous warp weaving, finishing and designing with Weave-it squares.
Homework: No Homework is required
Class Prerequisites(Students should know): No prior knowledge needed
Materials Fee: $5.00 *Material fees are separate from class fees and paid to the instructor the day of the class.
Materials Fee Includes: yarn and stuffing for a 4” X 4” pincushion or case
