This class is designed to familiarize yourself with terms and the parts of your spinning wheel. The basics of spinning will be covered to get you started spinning on your wheel.
Students Will Learn: terminology and how their wheel works, how to draft fibers and about staple length of fibers, how to create a non-slipping leader to begin your yarn, how to spin a single yarn, and how to spin 2-3 preparations of fiber and their differences, and how to set their finished yarn.

Class Prerequisites(Students should know): that this course is for beginners. If you already have prior knowledge, that is great, but we will be focusing upon the basics.
Materials Fee: $20.00 *Material fees are separate from class fees and paid to the instructor the day of the class.
Materials Fee Includes: 2 oz. of hand dyed top, 1 oz roving, 1 oz. fiber batt
Students Should Bring: a spinning wheel that is in good working order, and a towel for soaking excess water out of their completed yarn
Teacher Will Supply: handouts, resources, my spinning wheel, plastic bags
