MINI LESSONS: Mini lessons are just that - a short lesson, taste of, or brush up. Mini Lessons are available at the following locations/times:
Foxy Lady Rug Hookers: "Getting Started in Rug Hooking". The Foxy Ladies Rug Hookers Guild will be holding 1/2 hour "getting started" classes each day of the Fair using complete ready-to-hook kits available for purchase from the guild. Stop by the guild's demo space to check out the kits and class times. D1 & 2 on the map.
Founded in 1999, the Foxy Ladies Rug Hookers Guild is dedicated to the craft of traditional rug hooking. We meet monthly at historic Beau Bien Tavern, 921 School St., Lisle Station Part, Lisle, Il. on the second Saturday of each month, except December, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. All skill levels from beginners to the most experienced are welcome. We are a chapter of the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists (ATHA). Windy City Knitting Guild: Learn to Knit - whether you are new to knitting or just need a refresher, stop by at our booth and one of our knitting guild members can help you (if you do not have supplies, there is a $10 fee for needles, yarn and handout you can take home). If you are already a knitter and just want to sit and knit, stop by and spend a little time with Polly E Cotton. Polly is our guild's dress form that knitters from all over who have attended our previous knit in public events have "dressed". Stop by and add your own creative contribution to her dress! The Windy City Knitting Guild (www.windycityknittingguild.com) meets the third Tuesday of each month, 6:45 to 8:45 PM, at the Sulzer Regional Public Library, 4455 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago IL. Annual membership, which runs the calendar year, is $25. This money helps us produce 12 newsletters each calendar year. With paid dues you will be mailed a newsletter before each meeting, and you will get discounted fees for our weekend workshops and classes. The Crochet Guild of America - Northern Illinois Chapter: Sunday Only: Members of the Northern Illinois Chapter of the CGOA will be available on Sunday to teach basic stitches, demonstrate and answer crochet related questions. Hollow Tree Spinners: All Days - Hollow Tree Spinners will demonstrate spinning on drop spindles and wheels. Children and adults are invited to stop by and give it a try with a little help from their Hollow Tree friends. Visitors are encouraged to add a few strands to the tapestry that will be woven during the weekend. D4 on the map.
The Hollow Tree Spinners Guild meets at 10 A.M. on the second Saturday of each month at The Fold in Marengo. Programs are presented on spinning, dyeing, and the many uses of handspun yarn, and members enjoy spinning together. Visitors are always welcome and, if interested, will be helped to learn how to spin. Every October, the Hollow Tree Spinners join the the Woodstock Weavers to present a display of spinning, knitting with hadnspun, felting, and weaving at the Old Courthouse Arts Center in Woodstock.
InterKnit Machine Knitters: All Days - The InterKnit Machine Knitters will be continuously demonstrating how to knit on a knitting machine, using mid-gauge and bulky gauge machines for the demonstrations. We have several items planned to make, such as winter ear-bands and hats. Visitors may also sit down and try their hand at knitting on the machines. D6 on the map.

Naturally Sassy Knitting Guild: Saturday only - The Naturally Sassy Knitting Guild members will be demonstrating several knitting techniques such as: socks on 2 needles, Introduction to the Ravelry website, picout cast-on and cast-off, I-cord, and patterns such as the Anne Shoulder Scarf and the Milifile Fine Wrap. Our guild members will be displaying some of their beautiful knitted projects. Be sure to stop by and pick-up one of our informational phamplets. The Naturally Sassy Knitters would love to meet you! Woodstock Weavers Guild is a handweaving guild with members primarily in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. We Our Guild encourages the development of artistic and technical skills in handweaving and promotes public knowledge and appreciation of handweaving as both a craft and an art.
