Class ID: 1 - Mossy Forest Pouch - Saturday All Day - All

Students will make this charming pouch using Irish waxed linen and a twining technique. It is the perfect size for carrying charms to bring good fortune. It is 1 1/2 in. wide and 1 1/2 in. long, a square pouch with a fringe border: dark emerald, black and olive drab 4-ply waxed linen with black and assorted beads.

Students will Learn: Twining with waxed linen.

Students should Bring: Scissors, pencil and paper, task lamp, if desired

Class ID: 2 - Mother Wisdom Basket - Sunday Morning - All

This is a sweet little basket designed for a variety of uses. Students will learn basic techniques for basket weaving including open weave, continuous weave, and rim lashing. All the steps are similar to those used in more larger, more elaborate baskets, yet students will be able to complete this basket in much less time. Students are invited to bring beads, charms, and fibers, if desired.

Students will Learn: Basic plaiting, open weave, and continuous weave, rim placement, and lashing.

Students should Bring: Scissors, spring type clothespins, basin, towel, large yarn needle, cloth tape measure, pencil and paper, sponge or spray bottle, small flathead screwdriver or weave rite tool, pocket knife optional.

Class ID: 3 - Old Glory Basket - Friday All Day - All

Picnics, Parties, Parades…Strike up the band and march into class! We'll be weaving the"Old Glory Basket". It is a market style basket with festive Fourth of July trimmings. With a wrapped handle and red, white, and blue accents, it is quite possibly the perfect size for toting those parade, party, and picnic parcels. Basket dimensions: 9 1/2"H x 18 1/2"W x 9"D, approximately.

Students will Learn: An overlay technique to use with regular plaiting. Interested students will learn regular braiding and lanyard braiding as time allows. Depending on skill level, some students may not completely finish this basket during class. Finishing instructions and demonstrations will be provided.

Students should Bring: Scissors, spring type clothespins, towel, cloth tape measure, pencil and paper, sponge or spray bottle, small flathead screwdriver or weave rite tool, pocket knife optional.

Teacher will Supply: Handle, rattan reed: natural and dyed, waxed linen, lanyard and regular braids, stars and bead trims and spray stain.

Class ID: 4 - Wood Based Bowl with Colored Reed - Saturday All Day - Beginner

This bowl is woven over a mold to keep a uniform shape. The spokes are inserted in a slotted wood base followed by an over/under weave that will provide and interesting twill effect. The rim of this useful basket may be finished in a variety of styles using reed, pine needles, waxed linen cord and decorative yarns--all will available to choose from.

Students will Learn: This beginning to intermediate basket design allows each student to successfully learn and expand on a basic technique. The resulting basket may be completed to whatever level is comfortable and fun!

Students should Bring: Old towel, pail/bucket, scissors/weaving shears
